California Prep teachers met with the students’ parents last March 29, 2019 during the Student-Parent-Teachers Conference with SPTC as acronym. Numerous parents from the kindergarten and elementary sections supported the said conference.
Low turnover was observed in the higher sections (middle school and high school) which were stationed in their own classrooms. During the event, the school adopted the policy of “No Parents, No Report Cards”.
The SPT Conference carried the objective of allowing the students to present their own achievements and even portfolios, if any, to their parents and defend their low grades if needed. Usually, this should be handled in such a way that the SPT Conference would become a student-centered activity. It was obvious that there were also a lot of interactions happening between teachers and parents. One reason was the ample time allotted for the scheduled event. However, some trusting parents even just gave a call to the homeroom advisers and requested them to hand over the Report Cards to their children or students.
The SPTC was under the supervision of the section coordinators such as: T Michelle for the Kindergarten; T Juby for the Elementary; and T Lenie for the Middle and High School.
