California Prep International School recently played host to Music Travel Love -- one the hottest acts on YouTube with over 150 million views -- when Bob and Clint Moffatt, twin brothers formerly of the ‘90’s boyband sensation The Moffatts, stopped by the school to perform a few songs this past Friday.
Currently on a tour of SE Asia with shows scheduled in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, the brothers were generous enough to take time out of their busy schedule to visit CPIS in between shooting a music video in Khao Yai on Thursday and playing a concert in Bangkok on Saturday.
Music Travel Love, known online for their spectacular videos featuring a mix of original songs and cover tracks recorded at some of the most scenic locations across the globe, kicked off the CPIS show with Wonderful World by 60’s legend Sam Cooke, followed by the Ronan Keating classic You Say it Best.
A brief intermission ensued, with the band’s father and manager, best-selling author Frank Moffatt, taking the stage to share a few words of wisdom with the students about the importance of pursuing and realizing their dreams.
Frank Moffatt’s message of believing that anything can happen in life was reinforced when CPIS’s very own drummer, eleventh-grader Pangpond, and bassist Daks from grade 12, joined Bob and Clint on stage for a rousing rendition of the country music smash hit Body Like a Back Road.
Although Music Travel Love’s star is currently rising on the internet, many of the teachers at CPIS fondly remember the identical twins from their heyday with The Moffatts, and the duo did not disappoint as they capped off the four-song set with their most famous hit of yore, Miss You Like Crazy. Teachers and students alike swayed and sang along to the pop classic, with plenty of text messages and pictures being sent to envious and nostalgic families and friends back home.
“Shows like this allow us to give back to the music and education communities,“ Bob Moffatt said. “And, it was great meeting the students and staff. There are a lot of positive vibes at this school.”
Thank you, Bob and Clint Moffatt. The teachers and students at California Prep International School are going to miss you like crazy.
