CPIS Stakeholders Reaffirm Its Mission and SLOs

During the general orientation of January 13, 2020 and the Board meeting of January 2020, the CPIS stakeholders had the opportunity to review and critique the crucial foundational statements and directions of CPIS.

The CPIS stakeholders reviewed and reaffirmed their commitment to the CPIS mission statement and SLOs as well as the Priority Global Competencies emphasis which are as follows:

The CPIS mission statement:

California Prep is committed to the harmonious development of the whole person for student excellence in academics, character/personality, useful service, and global citizenship.

 SCHOOLWIDE LEARNER OUTCOMES

Aligning with the above SLOs is the priority CPIS Priority Global Competencies emphasis in 2020-2021:

7. Functioning Effectively in an Interdependent World (FIW)

One school administrator noted that in 2014, WASC college and university commission had identified many global competencies for schools to consider as components of their curriculum delivery. Some of the core competencies underscored were “written and oral communication, quantitative reasoning, information literacy, and critical thinking.” If given enough depth and emphasis, the aforementioned competencies may lead students to be better prepared as global citizens, life-long learners, and effective contributors in their workplaces.
