On three vans and a pick-up truck for the donations, the students of California Prep International School (CPIS) visited a new orphanage right at the border of Thailand with more than 20 Karen orphans which were under the care of the SULADS last December 5, 2024. Leaving from CPIS campus at 6:00 A.M., the team enjoyed the long-ride for about 5 hours with one-check point for the passports at the border. The main purpose of the visit was to cheer the orphans this festive season by giving toys, clothes, snacks, and singing songs.
Highlighting the community service journey was the distribution of the donations coupled with the mingling experience and singing two songs Gloria Festiva and Hallelujah Chorus conducted by T. Charidel. The Thank You song from the cute and adorable orphans with their happy faces were meaningful and heartwarming. Definitely, they triggered emotional feeling or goosebumps upon reflecting the orphans’ future and the difficulties they had been through. With the students were the following teachers: T. Amita Jones, T. Ning, T. Del, T., T Kharen, T. Fritz, T. Lyndy, and T. Wenna.
The trip coordinator T. Amita expressed heartfelt appreciation to all teachers for the support especially to the following: the CPIS administration led by Dr. Phakdee, Ajarn Aewl, Ajarn Punee with the cafeteria team, T. Charity, T. Sheila, T. Daniela, and T. Barne for the donations, dedication, and the unwavering support. Without those helping hands, the wonderful opportunity with indelible memories should not have pushed through.
